Data Storage

SkyNotes does not store your recordings or personal data on our servers. Instead:

• Your audio recordings are stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account
• You maintain full control over your recordings through Apple's iCloud infrastructure
• We do not have access to or retain copies of your recordings

Cloud Processing (Optional)

When you choose to use cloud-based AI features, your data is temporarily processed by third-party AI services:

• Audio Transcription: Audio recordings may be sent to Groq or other speech-to-text services
• Text Summarization: Text content may be sent to OpenAI or other large language models for summarization
• AI Chat: Your chat messages and conversation context are sent to OpenAI or other large language models to generate responses
• Text Enhancement: Your text content is sent to large language models (OpenAI or others) for editing, improvement, and enhancement
• Text Analysis: Your text content is sent to large language models (OpenAI or others) for analysis, insights, and processing
• This processing occurs only when you actively choose to use these cloud AI features
• Data sent to these services is processed according to their respective privacy policies

Data Processing

When using cloud AI features, your content is processed to provide:

• Speech-to-Text: Converting audio recordings to text using advanced speech recognition technology
• Content Summarization: Analyzing transcribed text to generate intelligent summaries
• AI Chat Responses: Processing your messages to provide intelligent conversational responses
• Text Enhancement: Improving, editing, and refining your text content
• Text Analysis: Analyzing your text for insights, patterns, and detailed breakdowns
• All processed results are returned to your device through the app

Data Security

Your data security is maintained through:

• All data transmission to third-party AI services is encrypted in transit
• Your recordings remain in your personal iCloud account under Apple's security measures
• Third-party AI providers process data according to their security standards

Data Retention

We do not retain your recordings or transcriptions. Data retention is handled as follows:

• Your recordings are stored in your personal iCloud account according to your iCloud settings
• Third-party AI services may temporarily cache data during processing but do not permanently store your content
• You can delete your recordings at any time through the app or your iCloud settings
